Katrina Rebuilding Missions

Following the wake of destruction left by Hurricane Katrina, Seminole Lake Rotary did its first mission to Bay St Louis, MI in December 2005. Bay St Louis was one of the worst hit communities, experiencing a 30 foot storm surge that engulfed the entire region. Led by member Chuck Oldanie, Seminole Lake Rotary has sent volunteers to Bay St Louis every year between 2005 and 2015 to help with cleanup and rebuilding. During this time, we formed a partnership with the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate (Habitat for Humanity Bay-Waveland Area), helping with the funding and manual labor they needed for their important work.
